Is “Judge” a Bad Word?

1985) When you hear the word, judge, what is your first reaction? For me, it means someone who is waiting in the wings, ready to pounce on me the minute I do something wrong. Is this an accurate description of God as our judge? Many people believe it is.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 tells us God will judge everything we do, even those things that are unseen by others. Yes, this does seem to fit my initial reaction to what a judge is like, but I need to look at the second part of this verse. It says God will judge what we did whether it’s good as well as evil.

Every time you pray privately for others. Every time you stop and encourage. Every time you help someone with even the smallest thing, God will “judge” or make a note of them.

It’s easy to misunderstand someone’s actions and words if you don’t know them or have a relationship with them. God is not solely a judge of all the sin you have committed. Rejoice!
