2409) Lately, I’ve had some difficulty with my eyes trying to focus while reading a book. While waiting for a prescription, I saw a rack of “reading” glasses, and I picked out a pair and tried them on. I couldn’t believe how clear everything was up close. I just didn’t realize how bad my near-sightedness has gotten.
In thinking about this, I read Matthew 1:23 and remembered that the human eye can only see 0.0035% of what is before us. That’s quite a small number.
This verse reminds us that God is with us, and yet we can’t see him there. In the Old Testament, God was at a distance, but now that’s not the case.
The God of the universe is with us now. Remembering this fact, just think of the wonderful things we can do for him because he’s there to help, encourage, strengthen, and so much more. Just because our human eyes can’t see God doesn’t change the fact that he’s here.
