Radiant

2353) Winters in Maine can be tricky. Because I live on the coast, we get our share of rain and freezing rain when others in the state may be getting only snow.

Freezing rain is a hazard in many ways, and when there’s a combination of snow and rain, it can be deadly.

On my way to an appointment the other day, I was driving cautiously, but I noticed a driver in the other lane start to slide and spin into my lane. They were going to hit me head-on.

Because there was no one coming toward me, nor behind me, I turned my wheel to my left to avoid the oncoming car. My car cooperated and didn’t slide off the road.

The other person crashed into the woods to the right of where I was supposed to be.

As I sat trembling, I thanked God over and over for taking care of me, and I have been thanking him continually since then.

Because I keep thanking God, I wondered if he would like me to stop because he got the message, sort-of-speak. Then I smiled because I knew God loves hearing our praises.

Jeremiah 31:12 tells us, in part, that God’s people are radiant over the goodness of the Lord. My spirit definitely is radiant, so I will continue to thank the Lord. What can you be radiant about?
