2339) Death represents finality. It means a separation between humans and between humans and animals.

Death has the ability to turn our lives upside down because when someone (or something) dies, we walk along in life without them, and this can cause an ache deep within the soul.

When we, or someone we care about, goes through this, we may desperately want to comfort them or ourselves.

There isn’t much we can do in the moment, but there is a promise I read in Revelation 10:9 that helps. It tells us Death and Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire.

There will be a day when death will no longer exist, and for God’s children, it means abundant life with God for eternity.

All you have to do to receive this gift is to ask God to accept Jesus’ death on the cross instead of your own and to forgive you for all the times you’ve done wrong, and he will. Then death is only a temporary thing, and eternal, abundant life will begin.
