Hope

2336) I hope I get the job. I hope the report from the doctor is good. I hope for some peace and quiet.

All these things are reasonable wants, and when I read Psalm 130:7 that I must hope in the Lord. For with the Lord is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption, I think about another dimension of hope.

I have hope in the Lord because God has given me plentiful redemption. If I think redemption is solely salvation, which is more than enough as it is, I am missing out.

Redemption here is also promising deliverance from sin and is packaged in peace even when life seems anything but peaceful.

Redemption shows God’s loyalty to his children. Just think, behind the scenes is the great God of the universe is sticking up for you.

Redemption reflects our future spiritual hope that nothing we do cannot be forgiven. I am hopeful.
