2334) As I make stops in my community, I feel unsettled when I see signs posted that boldly state the company or place will not tolerate rudeness and bullying.
My struggle is not in the fact these signs are there, of course; it’s because they are necessary.
It seems our culture has defined itself by needing to be top dog; by standing up and protesting whatever doesn’t go our way.
I know there are times when we need to speak up for ourselves, but what I’m often seeing does not fit this description.
Paul tells us to encourage one another in 1 Thessalonians 5:11. Making the choice to encourage instead of degrade accomplishes a lot more.
Remembering it is the love of God that brings people to repentance, Romans 2:4, is more powerful than being indignant. Encouraging is a choice and can produce much that is good.
