Making Plans

2318) I’m a planner. I wish I could say it was solely because I’m a good steward of my time (which I hope I am). I primarily make plans because it lowers my anxiety.

Yes, I’ve battled anxiety long before it became a social buzzword. My goal in making plans is often because I desperately want to be able to predict what I may think, do or feel at any given moment.

My planning also tries to include how other people will think, do or feel at any time.

I can sense that you are shaking your head because you know just as well as I do how successful (or, more accurately, unsuccessfully) I am able to make these predictions.

There is someone, however, who can predict these things, and this is revealed in Jeremiah 29:11. Here the prophet reminds us that God knows the plans he has for us.

No matter how much I want to make plans for unpredictable things, God knows what’s coming for me. Some of these things are good, while others are difficult or crushing.

Wouldn’t it be better for me to plan on the fact that God has plans and these will always be used to produce good? Yes. It would.
