2313) I had someone ask me if I feel “unworthy” to write about the spiritual life we should have in these minute devotions.
They weren’t trying to insult me; instead, their sincere question was, do you have to be perfect in the areas of your spiritual life which you write about?
It is a relief to me to answer, no. I don’t have to be “sinless” in anything I write about, but that is in conflict, at times, when I read verses like John 13:15.
Here, this verse tells us to be an example of Christ. This means all our choices, actions, words and more need to be like Jesus’ example.
If I had to wait until this is true in my life before I write anything about godliness, I wouldn’t be writing anything.
Does this mean I have a free pass in responsibility for the things I write? Of course not. I still need to obey, repent, ask for strength and more.
It is often in repentance when others realize the grace and power of Christianity.
