2312) Most people in our country have heard the name of Jesus. The name can come up in casual reading; amidst swearing; in the news and more.
What I wonder about the people who use his name casually is what or who they think Jesus is?
Is he just someone people generally think of at Christmas or Easter? Is he the god of foxholes when life gets overwhelming? Is he only someone to sing about in church?
The Bible teaches us plainly that Jesus is God’s son; the redeemer of mankind by his sacrificial death on the cross.
He becomes the Savior for anyone who asks for forgiveness of their sins and that he come into their lives in salvation.
Regardless of how people know the name Jesus, and their reaction or inaction toward him, Philippians 2:9-11 tells us one day, EVERY knee will bow to him in heaven and on earth.
This would include anyone who has rejected him. At that point, the time is up, and only those washed in the blood of the Lamb will be welcomed to go with him to heaven.
Are you someone who knows who Jesus is in a general sense only? Why don’t you ask for forgiveness and an eternal relationship with him?
After all, we don’t know how much time there is left before all knees will bow before him.
