Manners

2300) I have been blessed that I was raised with manners. We learned to say, please and thank you. We were taught not to talk with our mouths full of food. My brothers learned to hold the door for ladies. You get the idea.

Teaching children manners is a reflection of who God is. Though Revelation 3:20 isn’t primarily a verse about manners, we see this within God’s actions.

The verse says, Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him and he with me.

God does not force his way into our lives. He demonstrates respect by giving us the choice of letting him in. Following God’s example in all facets of our lives, including manners, is important.
