2288) When I look at verses like Proverbs 1:7, I sometimes think, this verse isn’t about me. Why?
The verse says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Certainly, I have the “fear” or reverence for the Lord, but it is the second part of this verse I need to think through. Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
When I’m in the middle of a conflict or difficulty, it would be prudent to take a step back and think through the wisdom God has taught me through the years.
Not doing this means I can be behaving like the fool of this verse.
There is always something to learn and to be guided in God’s word. Challenge yourself to take a step back, slow down and meditate on it.
This can be helpful on many levels.
