Deathbed Promises

2279) I have heard of many people who are lying on their deathbeds who decide to acknowledge Christ and give their hearts to him.

It’s easy to judge situations like this. Well, he/she realized they were at their end, so now they commit to him.

It really doesn’t matter what our opinion is of their last-minute faith; Jesus’ grace is given freely.

For example, Luke 23:43 tells us of the conversation Jesus has with one of the thieves on the cross next to him. That man seeks Jesus’ forgiveness, and Jesus readily gives it. Today you will be with me in Paradise.

What an amazing God we have who will even extend his grace to those “at the last minute.”
