2262) In my classroom, I occasionally play a review game with my young scholars. These days the kids love and, in their excitement, they forget an important part of my directions.
You must wait to hear the entire question before you try to answer before the opposing team.
We adults know the reason for this, and the kids may find out because if one answers before I’m finished asking, I stop, and they answer by guessing what I would have said to end the question.
Sometimes, the kid lucks out and guesses correctly based on their assumption. And many times, they have not guessed correctly.
Proverbs 18:13 tells us, if one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.
Really hearing what God or others are saying means we do more than listen. We stop trying to formulate what we want to say next and give our focus to the other person.
Learning to hear and listen better builds relationships and connections.
