2260) God always acts for our good. Always. Yet, this statement is one many used to turn away from God.
“How can a good God allow such bad things to happen?” This is an understandable accusation disguised as a question.
The hard news is, bad things happen to all people. Psalm 91:5-6 reflects this. This verse lists there will be terror by night, arrows flying your way, pestilence in your crops and destruction that strikes.
But if you take a breath, you can reflect back in your life when these things have happened and see how God has used them for good.
Faith allows us to answer the question, how can a good God allow such bad things to happen?
The answer is, God takes the bad and uses it for good if we trust him during these times.
P.S. Just a note. Trusting in this good is not a feeling. You may feel nothing that is good in the moment. Trusting is a decision that this good will become known to you somewhere down the line.
