Make Yourself Available

2245) I have a friend whom I admire greatly. He has multiple gifts and talents, and how do I know? He uses them for God.

When I asked my friend how he got so involved in our community, he said simply, I made myself available.

Proverbs 22:29 tells us, Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men. (ESV) A verb in this verse stands out to me today. It’s the word, see.

When God has blessed us with gifts, talents and skills, we need to be using them. By making myself available, others will see what the Lord has blessed me with. It’s an opportunity for all to rejoice.

Making myself available has produced blessing after blessing.

Dare to find your skills (if you don’t already know) and make yourself available to use them. You will be proud as you stand before the King of Kings one day.
