Airline Trauma

2234) I don’t know about everyone else’s experiences, but I’ve had continual problems with flights for many years and because I’m often flying alone, I feel the anxiety more.

I’ve had mechanical, weather, and deicing delays. I’ve waited on a plane for up to an hour, for a gate to come open and another time to take off and more. I’ve had flight gates change 6 times before one specific flight and more cancelations than I can count.

All these things make my anxiety go through the roof, and the most recent of my experiences included multiple things I listed above.

This flight was so discombobulated that I became overwhelmed, but something inside said, give thanks.

So, through all these difficulties, I thanked God for everything I could, and an amazing thing happened. Peace filled me.

Isaiah 26:3 tells us God will keep us in perfect peace because we trust him. Giving thanks in stressful times is a form of trust because I am acknowledging God will be with me through it.

Now, I face a new flight in the days ahead. I know what I will do when my anxiety rises because, no matter what happens, I will choose to trust God. My feelings of anxiety has nothing to do with this trust because trust is a choice.
