2226) When I was growing up, my parents made sure I attended church, VBS and even a Christian school. I guess you can say I’ve heard about God for a very long time.  

When I was small, sometimes I’d lie in my bed and pray, If you’re really there, God, show yourself to me. And then, out of fear he would, I covered my head with the sheets.  

Thinking of this, it occurred to me that we all get a glimpse of God regularly. 1 John 4:12-13 tells us no one has ever seen God. But if we love one another; God abides in us.  

Put this thought together with 1 John 4:8, which simply says, God is love.

The connection I see is whenever we love another, a friend, enemy, or stranger, we are making God be seen, just like I asked for as a child.
