2221) In my language arts classroom, we study lyrics to songs old and new for their literary value (or not) and what we think the author is trying to communicate.  

One day, a young scholar asked me to play the “go away” song. I frowned in thought and then it hit me. “You mean Hit the Road, Jack?” She said, “Yea, the go away song”  

When I read Psalm 18:39 this morning, I thought of this brief conversation because David tells us in this verse, you equipped me with strength for the battle.  

What David didn’t say is, you made the battles go away.  

One day, battles and hardships of life will end, but in the meantime, God gives us the strength to fight them.
