2205) I have a wild and wonderful dog who lives with us. My young scholars probably know more about him than my husband does. He’s part of my Boone Tails children’s books series.

I could write about many delightful things about Cayce and a good handful of peculiarities, like his habit of stealing dishtowels from the kitchen counters whenever possible.

One thing Cayce regularly does is to guard the house. If anyone comes to the door; plows our driveway and the faithful UPS truck dares to show its presence, Cayce lets it be known they are not welcome.

Numbers 6:24 reflects Cayce’s vigil. It tells us May the Lord bless you and keep you. The word for keep in the original Hebrew is shamar and can be translated as guard or watch.

There is not a moment God does not watch over us. He prevents anything that will not produce something better in time.

We can go through our day knowing God is guarding and watching us, and he doesn’t even bark while doing so.
