2203) This may sound funny to my Southern friends and family, but it does get hot here in Maine. Maybe only a handful of days during the summer, but it does exist.
These “hot” days are sometimes hard to deal with here because many places do not have air conditioning, so a way to escape the heat is hard to find.
I walk with my dog Cayce most evenings and wait until then because half of the distance on our usual route will be shaded.
While walking last evening, I noted that these shaded areas were so cool and refreshing. I smiled as Psalm 23:2 came to mind. God showed me these shaded areas are like the still waters he promises to provide.
These “waters” may be brief, or they can last awhile. It may be there is a time of heat with no escape, but then, I step into the shadow of God’s still waters.
As we walk through this life, there will be times of difficulty; those which make us sweat and uncomfortable, but we need to keep walking because God promises the still waters.
Watch for and experience them.
