2202) Having written over 2200 of these “minute” devotions, I’m sure I have mentioned, more than once, I don’t do change well.
I had someone recently (and cruelly) point this out to me. I believe the words were, well, we all know you don’t do change well. This made me feel like curling up in a ball and crying.
As I was speaking to a friend about this later on, they said, have you ever considered this is one of the reasons students do so well in your classroom?
I asked them what they meant, and they said, because many of your students desperately need predictability, and you understand this and provide it to them.
This conversation gave me much to think about. And then I read Malachi 3:6. It tells us the Lord does not change.
Yes, there are times in this life when we need to be flexible, and this truly would help me, but it’s also true this desire for stability is exactly what God gives me.
