The Timing of Needs

2200) The good news: God will supply all our needs, Philippians 4:19. The hard news is, there are some things that need to be taken care of first before the need is met.

An example: I never had a car during my college years. So, I had to depend on others to get to church or get off campus (which was not in a city) for any reason.

When I got my first teaching job, I needed a car, but there were a few things I needed to do first. I needed to get a driver’s license. After all, getting a car was important, but I needed to be legally allowed to drive it.

God does promise and will supply all our needs, but when this doesn’t happen right away, perhaps it would be useful to remind ourselves that maybe something else needs to be in place first.

We can trust God’s timing.
