2189) The Holy Spirit is an aspect of my Christian walk I have not studied enough. I have often listened to someone else’s thoughts and/or experiences in sometimes opposite opinions or conclusions, but perhaps it’s time I did more study myself.
When I did a search of verses which address the role of the Holy Spirit, John 14:26 was at the top of the list. To remind you, it says, but the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
When I looked up what the Greek word for helper is, it’s paraklétos, which means:
“A legal advocate who makes the right judgment call because they are close enough to the situation.” (biblehub.com)
When I need judgement or discernment in a situation, I should call on the Holy Spirit to lead me. He can do this because he’s been close enough to make the correct judgment call in any situation.
I need to keep studying about the Holy Spirit.
