But tense is important when your goal is to understand the timeframe of the speaker.
In Psalm 62:12, David says God rewards everyone according to what they have done.
The tense of the word rewards is current. In other words, God regularly rewards us for what we are doing for him.
These things do not have to be big; they may include being kind to someone in the grocery store. They might also include calling someone just to check in on them.
Tense is important. God is rewarding all the things we do for him.
