The Rich are not Happier

2143) There have been times in my life when I had to count every single penny to make sure I had enough to pay my bills. (A good dose of this feeling could go a long way in a teenager’s life.)

It was during those days when I would look at people I knew and presumed had money and I didn’t see too many of them any happier than I was. In fact, many of them were in states of destruction.

I found the wisdom of 1 Timothy 6:9 true. It admonishes God’s children not to fall into the snare of thinking wealth makes you happy.

In fact, the verse goes on to say this desire will ultimately destroy the person.

Learning to be grateful for what you have is a far better life than always wanting more.
