2139) When I was in Bible college, I can remember all the wrestling in my spirit about things I should and shouldn’t do as God’s child.
No, these things were not the 10 Commandments, for example. Instead, they were things that fell into the gray area of the Christian faith.
Should I drink alcohol? Is it okay to be very active on a Sunday?
It was easy for me, at the time, to point at others, self-righteously, and think my view of these things is correct.
Paul addresses these sorts of things in Romans 14:1-4. Here he says not to quarrel over opinions, such as what is lawful to eat. Paul alludes to agreeing to disagree on certain things.
There are many things in the Bible we should completely uphold. When it comes to these other things, we need to pray for God’s wisdom and perhaps agree to disagree.
