2129) There have been times in my life when I, literally, couldn’t get up out of bed because the pain of a situation was too great. Often, no one else was aware of this. (I’m good at covering up–for better or for worse.)

It’s in times like this I wish there was someone who would call me to ask how I am. I wish someone would sit beside me, saying nothing. I yearn for someone who would tell me, I understand. Unfortunately, many of these did not happen during situations which left me hopeless.

Yet, there is a truth that would have helped me greatly in times like this, and it’s found in Genesis 16:14.

Here, a servant of Abraham’s wife, Sarai (later known as Sarah), was being mistreated by her. The servant, Hagar, runs away because the pain was too great and God followed her.

God spoke to Hagar, and His words comforted her because she realized God saw her.

If you’re feeling all alone and think no one cares, Beer Lahair Roi–Hebrew for the God who sees is with you.
