2121) There are many things I teach in language arts. My young scholars learn (hopefully) the correct way of spelling specific words, how to write an essay and more.
But any good teacher will tell you, we teach far more than this. We are looking ahead to life beyond the classroom for kids, and teaching skills which will help them in life, such as manners and organization.
Another skill is teaching kids how to ask for help and why. This is an important skill which is often tied in with their self-esteem. Why? Because asking for help is a vulnerability worthy of nurturing for both the questioner and the person who helps with the answers.
Jesus alludes to this very thing in John 4:10. He is speaking to the woman at the well and he reminds her why asking is important. He tells her, if you knew who is saying to you, give me a drink, you would ask him and he will give you living water.
God doesn’t push his way into our lives and it is helpful to encourage others to explore and ask about the One whom your faith is based.
