2116) There are many precious memories I have with my maternal grandparents. One of them is when we were sitting around the breakfast table.
My grandfather reached for his old King James Bible (really the only version readily available then). He would pull his reading glasses out of the holder and flip to the passage he read out loud the morning before.
I don’t remember any specific verses he read, but I do remember thinking he placed a specific value on reading and praying through God’s word.
Jesus alluded to the same thing when he said in Matthew 4:4, man doesn’t live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Just like we need food and water to live and thrive, we need God’s words to feed on. Perhaps having a Bible available at breakfast might be helpful.
