Beyond Imagining

2105) Having taught for many years, a question I’m often asked is, how has teaching changed from the beginning of your career to now?

It doesn’t take me long to mentally retrieve a list of things and toward the top is, many kids don’t seem to have as much of an imagination today.

I think there are many reasons for this and it’s interesting to investigate, but it doesn’t change this fact.   I am glad I have an active imagination and when I read verses like Luke 1:7; it kicks in.

Here we read about Elizabeth and Zechariah conceiving a child while being advanced in years. Can you imagine what it would look like to see an elderly woman, 8 months pregnant?

The Gospels tell us these old people had a son whose name was John (the Baptist) who was born to do a specific job; prepare the way for Jesus, the Messiah.

Using your imagination can enhance familiar verses in the Bible. Try it.
