2082) A few years ago, I took a beginning watercolor class. It was an experience which has opened a door to another room for creativity.
One lesson my instructor introduced us to is contrast. Painting an object can be beautiful, but adding a contrast beside it enhances its beauty even more.
I am reminded of this when I read Psalm 100:5. Here the psalmist tells us God is good, has unfailing love and is always faithful to us.
These things alone are a painting of immense beauty, but adding a contrast, we see even more.
Yes, people can do great things, but not always. People can love and then act in unloving ways. We can commit to be faithful to God and then do the opposite.
My focus in these observations is not on the failings of people but the contrast of God and who he is. Contrast has a purpose.
