2078) When I ask my young scholars to write about what they’re good at, many cannot think of much to put down.
When I stop by their desks and see they’re struggling, I’ll suggest things like, you’re good at getting your assignments in on time. Or you’re good at singing, basketball or being a friend.
Many will quickly discount these suggestions because they don’t think they’re important.
This is when I remind them that anything they do well can be used for good for themselves and others.
It’s sometimes easy to forget this even as an adult. Exodus 32:1-5 has God telling Moses he is going to appoint people who have the gifts of artistic design, stone-cutting and many other tasks. None of these things are unimportant to God.
All gifts and abilities can be used for God’s purposes. Don’t write them off as trivial.
