2077) As a writer, I have a sensitivity to words; what they mean and how they’re used. There are trillions of words online and, in this abundance, it’s easy to miss important ones which are surrounded by those which aren’t.
In thinking about this, I’ve noted when someone is described as a person of their word, it is a high complement and of great value. Sadly, this phrase seems to include fewer people each day.
Do you pray, arrive on time and do a job when you say you will? Are you dependable, always doing a task with integrity? It’s important to note that your reputation in verbal commitments paints a clear picture of who you are.
James 5:12 reminds us to follow through on our commitments. Let our yeses and no’s be our pledge we keep.
Perhaps it would be better not to commit to something you know you may not be able to do.
