Instead

2073) Evil exists in this world. We can see its effects everywhere. In our hometowns, schools, churches, state, country and more. If we were to force ourselves to look for it, the results can lead to despair.

Some choose not to look, you know, out of sight, out of mind. That’s sometimes a good option, but many times it’s necessary to face evil. Why?

Romans 12:21 tells us not to let evil overcome us. The Greek word for overcome is nikaó, which means to be victorious or prevail.

Paul is saying we should not allow evil to be victorious or prevail over us, but how can we fight something as powerful as evil?

Paul reveals the answer in the rest of the verse. It says instead of being overcome with evil, we can overcome (there’s that word again) evil with good.

The Greek word for good is agathos, which means good in our nature and characteristics which align with God’s nature. (biblehub, com)

Do you want to make a difference in a world that is saturated with evil? Imitate God’s goodness. It will make a difference. God says so
