Time is Limited

2017) Time changes as we grow from childhood to adults. Well… does it really change, or is it our perception of time that changes?

As a child, a school year to me was endless as was Christmas Eve, lying in bed, desperately wanting to go to sleep so Christmas morning would arrive.

When I ponder time now, I am sometimes frustrated that God’s “time” is often not my time. Because of this, I can get frustrated and sometimes even angry with God because he doesn’t seem to step up to the plate and answer my calls.

These things I describe are real on my end but what’s really going on on God’s? I cannot answer this fully, but I do know there are times God is waiting for something vitally important.

Genesis 6 tells us of the wickedness of those who were contemporary with Noah. God goes on to say he was going to wipe all off the face of the earth, and yet, he said it would be in 120 years. Why that long? 2 Peter 3:9 gives us an answer.

Peter said God is not slow to fulfill his promises, slow as we know it. He is being patient, not wanting anyone to perish.   It’s clear God’s time is different from ours. Eternity has no limits, yet our time does.

It becomes more and more clear to me that a clock is not always useful when it comes to our relationship with God.
