Did you know David uses a metaphor in Psalm 139:13? The author specifically says God created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  

When we look into the term, inmost being, (kil-yaw’ in the Hebrew) it refers to our emotional, affection, and essence of moral character. (biblehub.com) What I understand this to mean is God created us with the ability to feel and act upon it in ways to glorify him.  

The next thing David says is God knit me together in my mother’s womb. The word for knitting in Hebrew is cakak, which translates to protection.  

As I look at this verse, I am reminded of the value God places on each human life. He values us so much, he willingly sent his son, Jesus, to die in our place.
